Dr. Ershad Tavakol

Ershad Tavokol was a Ph.D. student at IAPN from April 2013 until December 2016. He works for K+S since January 2017.

He studied the extent of reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and the antioxidant activity of plants under drought and nutrient deficiency conditions. Furthermore he evaluated the levels of phytohormone production in plants under different levels of abiotic stresses. Physiological responses to such stress conditions were simultaneously investigated by studying levels of cellular gene expression, correlation of quantitative expression and, specificity of the respective genes with their corresponding enzymes.

Prior to his Ph.D. studies Ershad Tavakol was a master student in the field of “Sustainable International Agriculture” (SIA) at the University of Göttingen, and he completed his M.Sc. in 2013.
