Within the series of events »IAPN in Dialogue« researchers and practitioners from around the world report about their projects. The IAPN is usually in close cooperation with the projects or project partners.

 

- Potassium Management in Uruguay

Recently in numerous crops in Uruguay, symptoms of potassium deficiency are observed more frequently. Prof. Dr. Mónica Barbazán from the Universidad de la República in Uruguay is one of the leading researchers on K in the South American country. She presented current studies at “IAPN in Dialogue”. more

- Production and natural resources of mineral fertilizers

Approximately 190 million tonnes of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are used as plant nutrients worldwide, and the demand is rising. This time, ‘IAPN in Dialogue’ focussed on fertilizer production and on future availabilities of natural resources. more

- Can oil palm cultivation be sustainable?

Palm oil is part of our daily lives. Within the series "IAPN in Dialogue" was discussed how a sustainable cultivation of oil palms can be developed. Four international experts were guests at IAPN. more

- Wheat: a cornerstone of world nutrition

Two internationally recognized experts on global food and wheat production attended the sixth event of the series "IAPN in Dialogue" that took place on December 6th, 2016 in Goettingen. more

- IAPN in Dialogue discusses “Potato Potentials in Africa”

As part of its series of events “IAPN in Dialogue” the Institute of Applied Plant Nutrition – IAPN focused on the importance of potatoes as a means of fighting hunger and poverty in Africa. more

- IAPN in dialogue with weather expert Falk Böttcher

On 25 June, 2015 Falk Böttcher from the Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD, “German Meteorological Service”) visited IAPN. He described changes in the past and projected hydrological data and discussed their consequences for agriculture with participants at the event. more

- IAPN in Dialogue on Farmer Learning Platforms in Uganda

On 23 September 2014 the event “IAPN in Dialogue” took place for the third time. Christine Kyomugisha of the Sasakawa Africa Association introduced the concept of Farmer Learning Platforms to many interested guests. more

- IAPN in Dialogue with Prof. Cakmak

On 20 May 2014 the IAPN held its second discussion afternoon. Participants had been invited to discuss the topic of “Micronutrients in crop production and human health in developing countries” with Prof. Cakmak. more

- Off to a Great Start: »IAPN in Dialog«

On 25 September 2013 the Institute of Applied Plant Nutrition (IAPN) hosted its first »IAPN im Dialog« event. The theme was "Informing smallholders in Uganda", and featured Daniel Olol from Uganda. more
